When cutting the material, ensure to use standard woodworking equipment for a clean finish. The wood grain on Stain grade material is only on the surface and may be eliminated if sanded. When painting, avoid using primer coats and opt for water-based Acrylic Latex Paint. If using Alkyd Enamels, an exterior primer such as Kilz is required, and additional drying time may be necessary. Never paint the material before installation as the flexible nature of the material can cause the paint to crack during installation.
